Don Levin, J.D., MPA, CLTC

As part of the USA-LTC acquisition, Don joined the Krause team in 2023. He spends much of his time speaking with attorneys and legal professionals about the importance of incorporating our products and services into their practices. Don also writes articles and develops educational materials demonstrating the value of our offerings to professionals and their clients as it relates to protecting their finances with these invaluable insurance solutions. In addition to working closely with our attorney clients, he assists the team by instilling confidence and teaching sales and marketing skills to better engage clients.

Don graduated from the University of Illinois–Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice. He also has his Master of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the John Marshall Law School. In addition to being a retired U.S. Army officer, Don attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and completed the Defense Strategy Course of the U.S. Army War College. Don is licensed in Life and Health insurance in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia and has his Certificate of Long-Term Care (CLTC). He is also a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), Long-Term Care Professional (LTCP), and an American College Chartered Leadership Fellow (CLF). Don has earned Green Belt certification through GE’s Six Sigma program and is a graduate of GAMA International’s Essentials of Leadership and Management. He has also taught Managing Goal Achievement^®, Integrity Selling^®, and The Way to Wealth^® to hundreds of leaders and salespeople over the past 20 years.

After practicing law for 13 years and managing a general law practice, Don changed careers and found greater fulfillment in the Long-Term Care Insurance industry. He also served as a caregiver for all four of his grandparents, which instilled in him a deep commitment to helping people protect themselves, their portfolios, and their families from the ravages of long-term care.

Prior to joining our team, Don served as President and CEO of USA-LTC and as Managing General Agent of PNW Insurance Services. He has taken on various other roles through the years, including Divisional Vice President at both Genworth Financial and General Electric Financial Assurance. All in all, Don has over 20 years of experience developing and maximizing strategic relationships with attorneys and other business professionals.

Driven by empathy and integrity, Don always aims to put the client’s needs first. He is passionate about creating urgency with professionals and their clients about the need to protect themselves with LTCI and other products. Don is skilled when it comes to communication, persuasion, leadership, and management, providing him with essential tools to correspond with professionals across the industry.

Don was born and raised in Chicago and is now settled in Boise, Idaho. He has been blessed with five children, 19 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Outside of work, Don enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs—Barnes and Noble—as well as writing in a wide range of genres (14 books to date!), reading, attending church, traveling, and gardening.
