Thomas R. Krause, J.D., is the Vice President of Operations at Krause Financial Services.  He specializes in using annuities to accelerate eligibility for government benefits, expert testimony and litigation support when attorneys are faced with a Medicaid denial, and the valuation and sale of non-compliant annuities.

 

Thomas has a passion for teaching elder law attorneys crisis Medicaid and VA planning strategies for their senior clients.  He speaks at legal forums throughout the country and often hosts our national KrauseCAST webinar series, which focuses on providing the knowledge and resources needed to be successful in the industry.  Recent presentations include Introduction to Crisis Medicaid Planning, Advanced Crisis Medicaid Planning for the Married Couple, Calculating Medicaid Reimbursement Claims, The Triggering Events of an Annuity, Calculating Medicaid Planning Figures, Strategies to Divest Non-DRA Compliant Annuities, Promissory Notes, and Other Assets, and How to Handle Non-DRA Compliant Annuities.

 

Thomas was also featured in the American Bar Association’s “Voice of Experience” publication. The article, entitled “Annuities Provide Protection in Cases of Nursing Home Care”, discusses how a Medicaid Compliant Annuity can help seniors save their hard-earned assets when faced with a nursing home stay.

 

Thomas earned his B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2010 and his J.D. from California Western School of Law in 2014.  He is a member of the California State Bar.
