Louisiana Allows Cameras in Resident’s Rooms

A local nursing home resident looks forward to the installation of cameras in rooms as she believes it “will help keep better track of the residents.” The same resident has seen poor care of other residents and has been called names by an aide.
Having a camera in a resident’s room will be completely voluntary and when they are installed, they will need to follow certain requirements. For example, there must be signage alerting people that there is a camera recording and the patient or the patient’s family will be responsible for the cost.
